Nature is powerful and should be treated as such. I think we’re always looking for extravagant solutions to what seem to be complex problems, that we ignore what’s right in front of us. Obviously there are benefits to traditionally Western health practices, but there are a lot of drawbacks as well — unknown side effects, cost, efficacy…the list goes on. We have access to tremendous healing at our fingertips. Let’s utilize it.
Wosana is derived from the Yoruba word Wosan (Whoa – Sohn) which means To Heal. So essentially Wosana Health is saying To Heal Health, which is exactly what we’re trying to do here. Wosana is an homage to my heritage and my ancestors and everyone who helped shape who I am today. Learn a bit more about it on our About page.
I was sick of seeing women’s health issues being ignored by the US Healthcare System. Not only were we being denied treatment, diagnosis or even basic acknowledgment of our pain and experiences, but when we were given treatments, they were often dangerous, ineffective or masked the symptoms of a deeper issue. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and I set out to build a community that fostered a healthy and supportive exchange of information and experience. A community that helps us heal together.
